Former Minister of Communications: The Night Journey and Miraj preceded the development of technology by centuries

Dr. Hani Mahmoud, former Minister of Communications, said that despite the technological development in artificial intelligence and the technology revolution, there was the miracle of the Night Journey that defied human laws at the time, surpassed them, and preceded them by centuries, and no one could understand how it was done.

The former Minister of Communications added that artificial intelligence is everything we use in our daily lives, and the biggest challenge is the Human Internet and being connected to the Internet.

Dr. Hani Mahmoud added that some companies have begun installing chips for employees to facilitate communication with them, but the danger in those chips is the programs that may be loaded on those chips that can read everything that goes on in your inner feelings and control you, stressing that those chips will become a reality. Without it, man would fall behind the ranks of civilization and modern technology.

The former Minister of Communications asked about the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market, pointing out the disappearance of many jobs in the future and with technological development.

Ayat Al-Haddad, a member of the House of Representatives, asked about the role of legislation on robot punishment, how we confront it, and are we prepared in Egypt for these crimes related to robots? If a draft law is presented to hold robots accountable, it will be a precedent for Egypt.

The Dr. Vice President of Assiut University said that he does not support providing legal personality to the robot, especially since it was created to serve humans, and the idea that the robot has rights and duties is considered absurd.

The Vice President of Assiut University spoke about the law relating to those responsible for defective products related to the Consumer Protection Law. Accordingly, legal responsibility is due to the factory that produced the robot, and if the error occurred through operation, then it is due to the person who owns the robot.

He called for an ethical code of rational behavior that would be the standard and controls on which the manufacturing of robots is based and that international companies specialized in this field would adhere to.

The symposium is moderated by Dr. Shehata Gharib, Vice President of Assiut University, in the presence of Dr. Hani Mahmoud, former Minister of Communications.
