Former player Akash Chopra says nothing is going to happen whether Sanju Samson is in India’s T20 World Cup squad or not. Chopra said that even if Sanju is included in the team, he would not play and Rishabh Pant will be India’s main wicket keeper.
Out of the two wicket keepers I would pick Rishabh first. His record in T20 Internationals is not so good. But Rishabh is left handed and a trump card. Rishabh’s current form is very good. And wicket keeping is also doing well. Therefore, he will be included as the first wicketkeeper in the World Cup squad.
KL Rahul and Sanju Samson are competing for the second wicket keeper role. Rahul and Sanju are not going to get a place in the playing XI for the World Cup. So, no matter who is included, no difference is going to happen. I thought earlier that Dhruv Jurel might make the World Cup squad as a wicket keeper.
I also expected him to do well in IPL for Rajasthan Royals. Jurel could also play in the position required by the Indian team. But I didn’t see much performance in batting in IPL – Assessed Chopra.
