Former Senior Ballet Dancer: Shen Yun Touches My Heart| Dance| Traditional Culture| San Jose Performing Arts Center

[The Epoch Times, Ionawr 02, 2023](Reported by The Epoch Times, San Jose, USA) “(Shen Yun) is very beautiful and touches my heartstrings.” On the afternoon of January 1, 2023, former senior ballet dancer Juanita Roy was stunned after watching the Shen Yun New Era Troupe perform at the San Jose Performing Arts Center.

Roy has been active on stage for over a decade and has performed the ballet “The Nutcracker” at the San Jose Performing Arts Center.

This is Roy’s second time watching Shen Yun. She said the reason she has been watching Shen Yun is “because of my love for these dancers and artists, I believe they have great courage, and I can feel with my heart what they are represent it (traditional culture).”

He said: “Especially in the West, we should ask ourselves, why is such a fine group of artists being persecuted for their message? (Persecution) even (extends) America, America should have all the glory that we fought for ideals – to fight But why are these lovely people being persecuted? They bring the truth and are eventually stopped.”

Roy observed from the Shen Yun program, “People are suffering because of their beliefs and values, as well as the traditions that are sacred and dear to their hearts.”

Roy said: “We can all learn from these (Shen Yun) artists, because they disregard life and death, persecution, and the life and death of their families. They have the courage to stick to their beliefs in their hearts. We all need such courage.”

Roy felt the spiritual significance behind Shen Yun’s performance. He said the divine culture shown by Shen Yun “was truly beautiful and touched my heartstrings.”

He said that tradition is closely related to human beings, “If we forget who we are, we have no future. Where are we going? If we forget God, then what is the purpose of our life? Only in the end we exist? enslaved by ourselves. In a state of being, because instead of seeking the divine nature, the divine music and art, what are we looking for? Just living and suffering and being slaves (to self).

Roy saw the “elegant classical dance training” of Shen Yun dancers’ performances, “Everything they do is so beautiful. The lines of the dancing hands, the flowing eyes, and the brilliance of looking at each other, it everything in it. , beautiful and fragile.”

She wanted to say to the Shen Yun performers: “You are my heroes, please continue.”

She said that she was very jealous of the great performances of the Shen Yun performers and that she planned to return to the stage. “I took away a lot of the beauty (of dancing) that came with them … I should start dancing again.”
