Former UFC Champion Khabib Soccer Player… Signed with the Russian 3rd Division

Khabib Nurmagomedov (33, Russia), who dominated the UFC, the world’s largest mixed martial arts organization, turns into a soccer player.

Reuters reported on the 14th (Korean time) that Nurmagomedov has signed a contract with Russia’s third-tier soccer team, Legion Dynamo.

Nurmagomedov announced his retirement abruptly in October last year after winning a second round submission to Justin Gaethsch (33, USA).

Before the tournament, his father, who taught him wrestling and raised him to become the best fighter in the world, died of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

He said goodbye to Open Finger Gloves, saying, “Since my father is dead, I don’t feel much meaning to fighting.”

Nurmagomedov won 29 matches in mixed martial arts based on his overwhelming wrestling skills.

In the UFC alone, he was 13 wins and undefeated.

Former UFC lightweight champion Nurmagomedov tweeted in January that he was “preparing for his football debut and ready to accept offers.”

It wasn’t a joke.

Legion Dynamo posted a photo of his contract with Nurmagomedov on his official social media account.
