The Cho Kuk Innovation Party, led by former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, was founded under the banner of “an early end to the dictatorship of the prosecution and restoration of the values of a democratic republic.”

On the 3rd, the Fatherland Innovation Party held a central party founding convention at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, with an estimated 3,000 people including party members in attendance, and elected former Minister Cho as the party representative.

In his acceptance speech, Representative Cho said, “As the person responsible for the Moon Jae-in administration’s prosecution reform, I bow my head in apology to the people for my mistake in failing to prevent the activities of political prosecutors and the birth of a prosecutorial republic.”

He continued, “I, the motherland, have been given the fateful mission to put an end to Prosecutor Yoon Seok-yeol’s dictatorial regime as soon as possible with the feeling of ending the decision,” and added, “I have burned the bridge to return.”

He said, “I have been trapped in ‘infinite hell’ for the past five years. I had to endure a situation where my entire family was slaughtered,” and “I could no longer watch the Yoon Seok-yeol regime’s reverse course, destroying the values of the democratic republic that had been protected with blood and sweat. “That’s why I decided to participate in politics and found a political party,” he emphasized.

As a party pledge, Representative Cho proposed transferring the Board of Audit and Inspection to the National Assembly and dismantling the exclusive authority of the prosecution. And so far, it has been revealed that more than 50,000 party members have gathered in all six city and provincial parties. On this day, Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Korea Jo Jung-sik also attended the founding convention.

Meanwhile, the ‘Pine Party’, whose founding party is being led by former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil from prison, will hold a central party founding convention at the multi-purpose hall of the Roh Moo-hyun Citizen Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 6th. The Pine Tree Party nominated former lawmaker Son Hye-won as the chairman of the party’s election preparation committee.
