Invited by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, M Faure Gnassingbé is staying in Paris. Received on May 10, 2023, the two personalities had an interview at the Elysée Palace. On the menu, bilateral cooperation and regional and international issues relating to peace and security were the subject of exchanges between the two leaders.

From well-informed sources, the head of the Elysée Palace and Mr. Gnassingbé had to express their concerns about the persistence of the threats of terrorism and violent extremism in the sub-regional space and in the Sahel. The two personalities find no inconvenience in leading the fight against the scourge before calling for the intensification of cooperation and partnership at bilateral and multilateral levels with the aim of eradicating cross-border crime and terrorism.
