It is expected that this week the Government will hold a security council to seek measures against “femicides, trafficking in women, intrafamily violence, among other crimes” and outline the measures to be developed.

This advice is announced days after the femicide of Erika Aponte, a 26-year-old girl who was shot and killed by her ex-partner in a shopping center in Bogotá last Sunday when Mother’s Day was celebrated in Colombia, which is precisely one of the most violent days for women.
