Francisco Lindor Cartwheels After Home Run in Charity Softball Game
Lindor’s Cartwheel Homer Doesn’t Count,But Charity event Still a Home Run
San Juan,Puerto Rico – Francisco Lindor brought his signature joy to the diamond Saturday night, but even “Mr.Smile” couldn’t escape the rules of the game. During a charity home run derby and celebrity softball game hosted by fellow Puerto Rican MLB stars José Berríos and Javier Báez, Lindor launched a towering shot off veteran utilityman Kiké Hernández.
Instead of a bat flip, Lindor celebrated with a perfect cartwheel as he rounded the bases. The only problem? He missed touching third base.
The solo homer was ultimately taken off the board after a replay review confirmed the oversight. Even in a fun-filled exhibition, the rules still apply.”I’m realy happy to be here supporting my teammates and my brothers and be able to put on such a gorgeous event for the people of Puerto Rico,” lindor said. “[Berríos and Báez are] doing tremendous work. It’s amazing. I’m really proud of them.”
The sold-out event benefited Berríos’ Fundación La makina and Báez’s El Mago Foundation, both dedicated to supporting communities in Puerto Rico.
The star-studded lineup included Edwin Díaz, Alexis Díaz, Jurickson Profar, jorge Polanco, Heliot Ramos, Carlos Beltrán, Willi Castro, Martín Maldonado, Jose miranda and carlos Gómez.
Despite the missed homer, the night was a resounding success, raising funds for crucial causes and showcasing the camaraderie and generosity of some of baseball’s biggest names.
