Frankfort’s boys and girls cross-country teams secured team titles during the 12th annual Progressive Physical Therapy Invitational at the Allegany College Course on Tuesday, according to results reported by the Cumberland Times-News.
Frankfort Boys Team Wins Title
The Frankfort boys team claimed the team title decisively by finishing with 42 points, outpacing second-place Keyser, which scored 66 points. The Falcons ran in a pack title format, placing three runners in the top six and five runners in the top 15. Spring Mills runner Isaiah Griffin won the individual boys race with a time of 16:31.0, while Keyser’s Luca Altobello earned the silver medal with a time of 16:45.0. Frankfort’s Mac Alexander and Johnny Jace both crossed the finish line in 16:41.0, and teammate Jack secured fourth place with a time of 16:55.0. For the Golden Tornado, Reed Starcher and Tatum Thompson ran stride-for-stride to finish in the top ten, with Starcher taking eighth in 17:04.3 and Thompson finishing less than a second behind him in ninth place. Allegany’s top finisher was Julian McKay, who took 16th place with a time of 17:55.0, and Myles Thomas led Fort Hill by crossing 48th with a time of 19:41.0.
Frankfort Girls Edge Out Musselman
In contrast to the decisive boys standings, the girls team-title race was much tighter, ending with Frankfort scoring 64 points to edge out second-place Musselman, which finished with 70 points. Musselman’s Sadie Yates captured the gold medal by crossing just 17 seconds ahead of Frankfort’s Bailey Ferguson, who took the runner-up spot with an exact time of 18:00 minutes. Keyser’s Ava Barrick finished third in 18:57.0, followed by Frankfort’s Hailey McBride in fourth with a time of 20:37.0. Allegany’s Zoe Ditto and Corrina Hildenbrand finished 11th and 12th with times of 21:27.0 and 21:52.0, respectively, while Addison Beat represented Fort Hill as its sole female entrant, placing 27th with a time of 23:30.0.
