Marianne Finds New Direction ⁤Under Taddeï After Sale Falls Through

Paris, France ‍- In ⁣a ⁤surprising⁢ turn of events, the French‌ weekly magazine Marianne will remain ⁢under the ​ownership‌ of CMI France, the media group controlled by Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky.​ This⁣ comes after the group announced Thursday it was abandoning⁢ plans to sell the⁢ publication.

CMI France ​also revealed ​that Frédéric Taddeï, a prominent⁤ French journalist ⁣and television personality, will take the helm as‍ Marianne’s new editor-in-chief,⁤ replacing Natacha Polony.”The group is ​committed to maintaining Marianne as a weekly publication that defends republican, social, and secular ⁤values,” CMI France stated in a press release.The decision to retain Marianne follows the collapse of two separate sale⁢ attempts.In July, ‍negotiations ‌with conservative billionaire Pierre-Edouard Stérin⁣ fell through. Later,⁢ in November, talks with entrepreneur ‌Jean-Martial lefranc also ended without ⁤a deal.
