Free Physiotherapy for Patients with Knee Joint Syndrome: Tips for Additional Treatment and 30 Baht Anywhere Treatment with ID Card

4 groups of diseases 30 baht, an identity card Free physiotherapy in the clinic, tips for additional treatment “Patients with knee joint syndrome” 30 baht for treatment anywhere in the subsequent period

Currently, there are 4 groups of disease patients who can use the gold patent to receive physical therapy services in clinics participating in the project to upgrade treatment to 30 baht anywhere with a single ID card: 1. Patients with stroke 2. Patients with traumatic brain injury; 3. Patients with spinal cord injuries who have been treated to a stable condition and 4. Patients with critical hip fractures due to non-violent risks (fragility hip fracture).

At the meeting to explain the guidelines for carrying out the project of raising the level of 30 baht to treat anywhere with a single ID card, Phase 2 in Phang Nga Province, organized by the National Health Security Bureau . (NHSO) recently Representatives from various professional councils are present. Engage in discussions and understanding with professional entrepreneurs. About the steps Methods and guidelines for requesting membership as a service unit in the Gold Card system

The Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanda Chaipinyo, representative of the Physical Therapy Council, said that in terms of the physiotherapy profession, piloting 4 provinces in Phase 1, there were not many physiotherapy clinics participating in the project. Most of the participating areas are from the north-eastern region.

The problem encountered was the transfer of patients from hospitals. This is because the system that has been set up requires patients to receive treatment in hospital first. Then ask the hospital to refer you for rehabilitation in a physiotherapy clinic. Meanwhile, the clinic needs to coordinate with the hospital itself so that the hospital can refer them. But the problem is that hospitals may not know where to turn. And when the clinic contacts them, they may not know or trust each other. It is also a burden on the hospital to provide additional baseline information.

“Right now, with a lot of patients, someone has to enter the information to forward. Once the application is submitted, the physiotherapy clinic must link the information with the hospital. Therefore, there must be a clear data linking system. In phase 2, these issues were discussed and received more cooperation. NHSO has also sought to act as a mediator in communication with hospitals in this matter. Or in some provinces the provincial public health doctor invites the hospital director to come and understand the reimbursement system. What should the hospital do? It will reduce congestion and create opportunities for patients to access services. If there is an understanding here, most hospitals will cooperate,” said Assistant Professor Dr. Kanda.

The NHSO traveled to various provinces to provide explanations. It will improve awareness and it is expected that there will be more physiotherapy clinics applying to join the project. Although the service fee payment rate that NHSO pays to the clinics is, frankly, much lower than the rate normally charged by the clinics. But the Physical Therapy Council is trying to convince them that the first phase will build on their potential, such as providing services during times when the clinic has free time or can assign people. It is considered made for people.

Furthermore, the clinic aims to not only treat those who can afford it. Even people who need services but do not yet have access to them are entitled to good services. Many clinics want to help with most of what we’ve talked about because they see it as an area that can be addressed. The clinic can function normally. But you can use your free time or allocate resources to provide care or go out and visit homes.

The Physical Therapy Council has proposed to the NHSO that in the next phase there will still be things that physiotherapists can help to provide services, namely groups who have had knee replacement surgery. Because some people come home and their knees are swollen, painful and they can’t walk, they need a physical therapist to take care of them.

Including groups suffering from pain such as back pain, neck pain, office syndrome. A physical therapist can provide advice on how to monitor symptoms and how to exercise to stop the pain. Otherwise it will continue to be a problem: some people will need treatment for years. Even if this group of people are not elderly. But there is a need to receive service. However, in order to take care of yourself and not become patients in the future, these issues need to be addressed gradually. Negotiate to expand services so patients receive more services.
