Errani and Paolini Claim French Open Doubles title

Sara Errani and jasmin Paolini clinched the French open doubles title, adding another Grand Slam to Errani’s impressive career. The Italian pair defeated Daria Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic in a hard-fought final.
For Errani, this victory marks her sixth Grand Slam title and completes a career Golden Slam in doubles, having previously won each of the four majors and an Olympic gold medal. She also secured the mixed doubles title with Andrea Vavassori.
The italian duo, seeded second, had a dominant run to the final, not dropping a set. In the final, Errani and Paolini initially took a 4-2 lead in the first set, but Danilina and Krunic quickly responded, leveling the score. The Italians ultimately secured the first set with a break in the 10th game after 55 minutes.
Danilina and Krunic fought back in the second set, earning two breaks to force a decisive third set. Though, errani and Paolini regained control, breaking both Krunic and Danilina early in the final set to secure thier victory.
“This is the best court in the world, I have the best memories here and it’s so special for me,” Errani said. “Winning a Grand Slam is such a big thing.”
Errani, 38, had previously indicated that this year’s Roland Garros would be her last playing singles. She lost in the second round of qualifying.
