Jeddah: Months later, the two harams witnessed the Friday prayers, which received people in full force. Thousands of people, including locals and foreigners, including Umrah pilgrims, performed Friday prayers at the harem following the Interior Ministry’s decision last Saturday to take precautionary measures against Kovid.
It is two years since so many people came to the harem for Friday prayers. As Kovid is present in many parts of the world, the two Haram offices had completed the necessary preparations to provide a safe environment for pilgrims and visitors. Facilities were provided for prayers in more places.
Cleaning and disinfection work continued with the latest equipment and technologies. The carpets were disinfected by robots and biocares. Pilgrims were given guidance in various languages. More security personnel were on hand to streamline traffic and avoid congestion.
