“Dtoyoung bought it for me.” This is a phrase written along with a photo of his girlfriend posted on the Instagram of Park Do-young, a 16-year-old high school student who has recently been attracting attention on social media.
In the photo, Doyoung’s girlfriend is showing off holding several luxury brand shopping bags that are too expensive for an adult to buy.

Looking at previously uploaded photos, Doyoung gave his girlfriend expensive branded clothing that would have been too much for a teenager’s budget, went to a high-end restaurant worth over 300,000 won, and bought luxury shoes to show off. In another Instagram post, she is seen authenticating famous brand clothes, shoes, and a bouquet of flowers that she received as a gift from Doyoung on the 100th day of dating.
However, at some point, the mood of Doyoung’s Instagram photo changes. Doyoung, who enjoyed playing soccer, stopped attending meetings and began to neglect meeting his girlfriend. In his daily photos, he can’t seem to let go of his cell phone.

Eventually, Doyoung started working part-time as a courier with an hourly wage of 10,000 won. He also posted that he was selling off his luxury shoes for 400,000 won each. The comments included threatening messages such as “Doyoung, shoot me as soon as you get the money,” “Give me the money when you have time to post this,” and “Doyang, you are chewing my DMs and working hard on Instagram.”
At the end, a photo of him smiling brightly with his friends was posted along with a post saying, “Can we go back to this time?”, and the last post was “I want to quit everything now,” but no photos were posted on Doyoung’s Instagram.
In fact, all of this is a ‘youth cyber gambling prevention and eradication campaign’ in collaboration with the National Police Agency and mobile financial service Toss. Through the Instagram account opened by virtual teenager Doyoung, it shows in chronological order how daily life is gradually falling apart due to cyber gambling.
It contains a message that sounds an alarm and urges attention to parents and adults through the main character who appears to be living an ordinary life on the outside, but on closer inspection finds himself falling into cyber gambling and reaching a dead end.

In addition, the National Police Agency plans to work with Toss to provide a service that reports suspicious gambling accounts and guide how to report them.
Kim Dong-kwon, a spokesman for the National Police Agency, said, “This campaign between the National Police Agency and Toss to eradicate cyber gambling among youth is significant in that it goes beyond fragmentary promotions and collaborates to improve the system,” adding, “We will continue to pursue public-private collaboration in various fields in the future.”
