Quarantine information must be entered in the Q code… Mandatory pre-entry inspection from the 5th
Consolidation of planes arriving at Incheon Airport… All port landers also undergo a PCR test
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Byeong-gyu = From the 2nd, everyone entering the country by plane or ship from China must undergo a Corona 19 gene amplification test (PCR). The issuance of short-term tourist visas will also be suspended, and all applicants must register in the quarantine information advance entry (Q-CODE) system.
According to the quarantine authorities on the 1st, according to the quarantine measures announced on the 30th of last month, the government will take these quarantine measures for new arrivals from China from the 2nd until the end of the month next.
Short-term foreigners arriving from China (except Hong Kong and Macau) must undergo a PCR test immediately upon arrival and wait in a separate room until the test results are confirmed.
Koreans or long-term foreigners will be tested at the public health center in their residence within one day of arrival and then stay at home until the test results come out.
The government is setting up temporary home facilities in cities and states across the country to manage confirmed cases from abroad during short-term stays. If they are confirmed at the airport entry stage, they will be quarantined in a separate temporary accommodation facility.
When boarding a flight, you must register your domestic address and contact information in the Q code. The government shares the information obtained in this way with local governments and uses it for post-entry management .
Domestic stops for flights leaving China will be consolidated from Incheon, Gimhae, Daegu, and Jeju to Incheon. In the case of Jeju, tourists can enter the country without a visa, but the China-Jeju route has been suspended due to this measure.
This measure also applies to passengers entering Korea on a ship from China. Chinese passenger ships can now arrive at 36 ports across the country.
Quarantine authorities plan to request pre-entry test results from those arriving from China, but the action has been delayed by three days in consideration of local preparations in China.
Consequently, from the 5th, it will be mandatory to submit PCR test results within 48 hours or rapid antigen test results for specialists within 24 hours for all domestic and foreign passengers boarding domestic flights from China.
However, exceptions are allowed for humanitarian purposes such as attending funerals, public officials traveling abroad, infants and small children under the age of 6, and within 40 days after 10 days from the date of confirmation.
The government also restricts the issuance of short-term visas through diplomatic missions in China from the 2nd to the 31st.
Visas may be issued for purposes such as diplomatic and official affairs, essential business operations, and humanitarian reasons, but the issuance of tourist visas is suspended. This period may be extended depending on future circumstances.
As the Chinese government eased immigration quarantine measures amid the rapid spread of Corona 19 in China, the government took these quarantine measures to prevent the influx of confirmed cases into the country.
Among the confirmed cases imported from abroad, the number of those who arrived from China was 19 in November, but in December, the number increases rapidly, recording 278 by the 29th. Since there is a possibility that new mutations will appear due to the rapid increase in confirmed cases in China, quarantine authorities are conducting genome sequencing analysis on confirmed cases after arrival from China.
