Full Court Kindness: Professor Lee Hyeong-ju Shoots for a Brighter Future with Hyesimwon Children
Professor Lee Hyeong-ju Donates Sportswear and Basketball Equipment to Hyesimwon
Professor Lee Hyung-joo of Hongik University recently visited Hyesimwon, a children’s welfare center in Yongsan, and donated basketballs and clothing from I-Sports. This visit was not limited to simple material support, but also explored a sponsorship plan that would allow Professor Lee Hyung-joo to donate the talents of the students he is teaching, and to promise to visit Hyesimwon children again to personally teach basketball.
Professor Lee Hyung-joo stated, “I have a precious relationship with Professor Kim Do-gyun through our senior-junior relationship at Nike Korea. I am very happy to be able to carry out the small promise we made a while ago, which was to coach basketball. Personally, I feel that it is very meaningful that Professor Kim Do-gyun did not forget his promise to his brother and carried it out. In these days when it is difficult to carry out even small requests, I hope that my small actions will have a positive influence on the students and disciples that I am teaching.”
This activity began as a result of Professor Lee Hyung-joo’s senior-junior relationship at Nike Korea, and it plays an important role in providing opportunities for sharing and education to the children of Hyesimwon and helping them grow. Professor Lee Hyung-joo added, “Growth through sharing and education is our mission. I will continue to create opportunities to share my talents and serve with students. I will also share this news with the students I am currently teaching at Hongik University and find ways to work together.”
Professor Lee Hyung-joo currently teaches at Hongik University and Incheon University, and is the head of the Han Ki-beom Basketball Class and the International Sports Professional Instructor Association. He is also actively working as a standing director of the Korean Convergence Science Society, the Korean Sports Policy Society, the Future Convergence Integration Society, and the Korean Leisure and Recreation Society.
