Pocket Card Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takagaki Haruo) is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract as an official partner with Toyota Alvark Tokyo Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hayashi Kunihiko), which operates the professional basketball club “Alvark Tokyo” in the B1 League, effective September 1, 2024.

Pocket Card has signed an official partnership agreement to support Alvark Tokyo, whose hometown is Tokyo. Alvark Tokyo’s club slogan, “WE,” expresses their desire to make history together with their fans and the local community, and as a member of “WE,” Pocket Card will do its utmost to support Alvark Tokyo.

We also plan to issue original credit cards that will come with limited edition merchandise, and will strive to provide our fans with high-value-added services.

About Alvark Tokyo

Founded in 1948 as Toyota Motor’s Men’s Basketball Club. With the entry into the B.LEAGUE in 2016, the team was renamed to the current Alvark Tokyo. ALVARK is the English spelling of the Arabic word for “electric shock,” which expresses the team’s enthusiasm for showing off electric plays, while also representing the “ark carrying victory” with Al = The, V = victory, and ark = ark.

The team finished the 2023-24 season in second place in the Eastern Conference.
