Fuxin City Enhances Prevention and Control of Major Animal Diseases in Autumn
Fuxin City is taking comprehensive measures to prevent and control major animal diseases such as avian influenza and highly pathogenic avian influenza, aiming to prevent the occurrence of major animal epidemics.
The Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has launched a city-wide initiative to carry out autumn major animal disease prevention and control work from mid-August to September 30. The bureau requires all counties and districts to prioritize animal husbandry upgrading and ensure the implementation of compulsory immunization of major animal diseases.
The key objectives of this initiative include:
- Ensuring that the immunization density of livestock and poultry reaches 100%
- Achieving a qualified rate of immune antibodies of more than 70%
- Establishing an effective immune protection barrier
To achieve these objectives, all counties and districts are required to:
- Organize special actions to prevent and control zoonotic diseases and improve animal quarantine capabilities
- Increase the frequency of inspections in key places such as farms, slaughterhouses, and livestock trading markets
- Implement quarantine, disinfection, and harmless treatment measures to ensure a smooth and safe passage through the flood season
- Promote the reduction of veterinary antimicrobial drugs and standardize the use of drugs for livestock and poultry
- Consolidate the main responsibility of enterprises and ensure the quality and safety of meat products
- Carry out livestock product sampling and monitoring to prevent livestock product safety incidents
Recently, the city has held training courses on current animal disease prevention and control policies and major animal disease technical specifications. All counties and districts have carried out publicity of epidemic prevention regulations and training on epidemic prevention technologies, laying a solid foundation for improving the city’s overall epidemic prevention capabilities.
