G7 “I will hold war criminals responsible for indiscriminate attacks on civilians”

The G7 foreign ministers warned on the 17th that they would hold “those responsible for war crimes, including the indiscriminate use of weapons against civilians, accountable”.

In a joint statement released after a video conference presided over by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbok on the same day, they said, “Russia, in accordance with the order of the International Court of Justice, will stop attacks on Ukraine, its people, civilian infrastructure, such as hospitals and schools, and should be withdrawn,” he said.

“The shameful and unjustified war of Russian President Vladimir Putin has forced millions to flee their homes,” they said. “The destruction of infrastructure, hospitals, theaters and schools continues.”

“The G7, together with its allies, has imposed unprecedented sanctions in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” they said.

He also warned that the G7 is ready to increase this pressure.

The G7 foreign ministers said that it is necessary to expand support to neighboring countries of Ukraine, and said that they would strengthen support at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) level, especially for Moldova, which has received the largest number of Ukrainian refugees relative to its population. .

G7 refers to the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and Canada, and the current G7 chair country is Germany.
