Gabby Windey’s ‘Traitors’ Win: A⁣ Career Turning ⁣Point?

⁢ ⁣ Updated June 18,2025
⁢

Gabby Windey, known⁢ for her appearances on “The‍ Bachelor” and “Dancing With The Stars,” almost passed on the chance that would ⁣further solidify her reality TV presence: Season 3 of “The Traitors.” Now, as one of‍ the winners, Windey’s career trajectory is on the rise, with a growing Instagram following and increased brand visibility.

Windey, who gained recognition as an ICU nurse and Denver Broncos cheerleader, initially retired⁤ from ⁢nursing in 2021 to pursue entertainment. Though, after a whirlwind ⁤of reality TV appearances, she felt her ⁤career momentum slowing.

Speaking with Variety, Windey revealed the convincing it took to get her on “The Traitors.” According to Windey, NBCUniversal casting executive ‍Christine Cowan used exclusivity as‍ a selling point, emphasizing that Windey was being chosen⁤ over other reality stars eager to join the show. The financial aspect also played a role.

Windey and fellow⁤ “Faithfuls” Dylan Efron, Ivar Mountbatten, and Dolores Catania split the $204,300‍ prize from “the Traitors,” translating to roughly $51,075 each. While not a life-altering ⁣sum, Windey noted that contestants also receive appearance fees. She‍ joked about the public perception of her finances, fueled by her humorous complaints about delayed payment and a viral vibrator ad.

Basically, they won an Emmy, and then I did ⁤a vibrator ad for money — and I was like, ⁢‘OK, I’m going back on TV.’ I was like, these are the people who want me the most, and it’s not, like, love related. ‍I was⁤ in the airport, and [NBCUniversal casting executive Christine Cowan] was like, ‘Gabby, we’re having ‍to turn people away. Everyone wants to get on this show ⁣so bad.’ exclusivity is a way to get me. If I know I’m going to be chosen over‍ others,I’m in.And it was the best thing I’ve done for my career.

Yeah [you get paid]. Not as much as people might think. After I was screaming about ⁢my money on all of the press tour, ⁤the ⁤internet thought I was broke, which I think is great. I made it to my first blind item that was like, ‘This former⁢ reality star needs another gig fast — ⁤apparently has no ⁢money.’

After that, everyone was so supportive of my brand deals ⁢— which is great. But yeah, I⁢ mean, it’s not⁣ as much as⁤ you would expect, I don’t think, for being on ⁣TV⁢ — but it wasn’t nothing. Obviously I needed money,⁢ RE: vibrator ads the month before! I’m counting down the days until I can take ‍it off ⁢my page, and it’s coming up.

What’s next

With a successful podcast, “Long ⁢Winded With Gabby Windey,”⁤ and brand partnerships with companies ⁣like Taco Bell and Cheetos, Windey’s career is gaining momentum. The “Traitors” win appears to be a pivotal moment, opening doors for ⁢new opportunities ⁣and solidifying her status in the entertainment industry.
