Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Tests Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch Update

Samsung’s Galaxy‍ Watch 6 series, launched in⁤ 2023,​ is ‍slated to receive its next major software overhaul: the One UI ⁤8 Watch update. Both the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are eligible for at least four years of major ⁣updates‌ from Samsung.

The One UI 8‌ Watch update,which‍ will also bring Wear OS‍ 6 to compatible devices,has entered the testing phase for the Galaxy ⁤Watch 6 Classic. Firmware version⁣ R960XXU1CYF6 is currently being tested,according to posts on X,formerly known as Twitter. Similar ​test builds⁢ are expected for the standard Galaxy Watch‌ 6.

Google announced wear OS⁤ 6 last month, confirming its release for eligible smartwatches, including Samsung’s Galaxy Watch models, later this​ year. The update promises‍ a redesigned user interface,smoother animations,and the integration of the Gemini AI assistant.

The new firmware aims to address previous software issues, notably those related to the‍ Always-On Display.Samsung is expected to incorporate its own enhancements into One UI 8 Watch, ⁤aligning⁢ the user interface⁤ with its‌ broader‍ One UI design language.
