An alley in broad daylight.

A stranger runs fast as if he is being chased by something.

The man, collapsed from exhaustion, immediately got up and tried to escape, but was eventually reached by the men who got out of the car.

A similar chase happened in a nearby neighborhood about 10 days ago.

A foreign man running away without a shirt was caught by three strong men.

These men arrested an illegal resident of Thailand aged around 20 years old here.

It turned out that these people were ordinary citizens who had no authority to arrest anyone.

Since last February, foreigners and unregistered immigrants have been suffering intensely in areas with high concentrations of foreigners, such as residential areas and Eumseong markets.

After applying for an alien registration card, if they refused or were confirmed as unregistered aliens, they would beat them and even imprison them.

They threatened him not only with a false identity document but also with a gas pistol.

“They said I walked out like I walked out of immigration, so they arrested me…”

The victims confirmed by the police were 12 and the damage amounted to over 17 million won, including cash, bracelets and gold rings.

Police arrested three people, including a man in his 30s and a man in his 20s, who participated in the crime on charges of joint detention, blackmail and assault, and sent another man in his 20s without detention.

“Illegally resident aliens take advantage of the fact that they cannot report even if they are victims of a crime because they are forcibly deported when arrested…”

Police believe there could be further criminal charges and are expanding their investigation.
