Gastroenteritis Outbreak at North View Primary School
Singaporean authorities are investigating 147 suspected cases of gastroenteritis among pupils at North View Primary School (NVPS) in Yishun, as of January 19, 2026.
Details of the Outbreak
Pupils across various grade levels began reporting symptoms of gastroenteritis on January 13, 2026.According to a joint statement released by NVPS, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), adn the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), the majority of affected students had recovered by January 18, 2026. One pupil was hospitalized on January 17, 2026, and was discharged in stable condition on January 18, 2026.
School and Agency Response
North View Primary school is actively contacting affected students and their parents to monitor their well-being. The school is collaborating with both the SFA and CDA to determine the cause of the outbreak.
