Israeli officials say a new plan for Gaza, approved by the cabinet on May 5, aims to change the current situation. The plan involves mobilizing tens of thousands of reservists and reoccupying a portion of Gaza. As part of this reoccupation, some buildings will be razed.
The Gaza plan also anticipates the displacement of Palestinians to a small area in southern Gaza. Concurrently, Israel intends to allow some aid into the Gaza Strip, which has been blockaded since March 2. This aid will be stored at hubs secured by American mercenaries.
Under the proposed arrangement, families will be permitted to collect food and essential supplies from these hubs every two weeks. The aid distribution is intended to alleviate some of the hardship caused by the blockade.
What’s next
The implementation of the new Gaza plan will be closely monitored for its impact on both security and humanitarian conditions in the region.
