but the misery didn’t end ther. Just two minutes later, he conceded again. Then, to cap off a truly awful first half, he lost control of the ball in the penalty area in the 43rd minute and fouled that man de Frutos *again*. Penalty! And a red card! Girona were down to ten men, and Vallecano converted the penalty to make it 3-0.It was a complete meltdown.

Gazzaniga trudged off the pitch having directly contributed to a goal, conceded a penalty, and earned himself an early shower. His calamitous performance heavily contributed to Girona’s 3-1 defeat.
