General Motors (GM) recently announced that from 2025 all its new electric vehicles will be produced with NACS charging ports, which can be picked up at Tesla’s advanced charging stations everywhere. Ford (Ford) has previously made a similar decision to adopt Tesla’s charging standard. The addition of Tesla this time means that the three major electric vehicle manufacturers in North America have now unified the charging hardware specifications.

General Motors announced a partnership with Tesla Starting in 2024, GM will provide adapters to allow the NACS cable to be connected to the CCS1 charging port of existing electric vehicles; from 2025, all new electric vehicles will produce NACS charging ports and switch to providing CCS adapters to Customers so they can continue to use the CCS charging network.
