The 12th Family Brass Hirano Merry Family Concert will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024. This concert will be divided into two parts: the classical stage and the family stage, and will include not only wind instruments such as the comedy “Merry Widow” selection, but also many songs familiar from TV and anime. The host, Family Brass Hirano Merry, is a brass band based in Hirano Ward, formed in 2010. Most of the members are working mothers who are raising children, and activities are held on Saturdays and Sundays in the mornings, where children are welcome to bring along. I want to refresh my mind and body by spending time not only as a mother but also as someone who loves music, as well as interacting with local people and contributing to the local music culture. This concert is planned as a brass band concert that can be enjoyed by everyone from babies to adults, and the announcement states, “Even if you hear children talking during the performance, we would appreciate it if you would kindly watch over them.” There is also a space for breastfeeding and diaper changing so that parents and children can enjoy the concert in peace.
Access is by train from Exit 4 of Deto Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, or by bus from Deto Bus Terminal, both of which are a 5-minute walk east, making it very convenient for families with children.
