iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air: What to Expect from the Latest Apple Devices

ProMotion 120Hz: A Game-Changer for iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air
Ross Young has leaked to MacRumors that the first iPhone 17 and the new thin “iPhone 17 Air” design will use a display that supports ProMotion 120Hz. This means the regular iPhone 17 could be the first regular iPhone to use a 120Hz refresh rate after using 60Hz for a long time.
ProMotion 120Hz will help the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air display smoother. The iPhone 17 is expected to use a display that supports a refresh rate starting at 10Hz or 1Hz, while the iPhone 13 Pro will use a refresh rate starting at 10Hz before arriving. Changed in the iPhone 14 Pro up to the iPhone 16 Pro which uses the lower refresh rate of 1Hz.

The fact that the screen uses a refresh rate starting from 1Hz will also support the Always-on Display feature.

There is currently no information whether the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air will use a 10Hz or 1Hz refresh rate display, but it is good news that the initial iPhone will move away from the 60Hz that has been used for a long time until the latest iPhone models like the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus are still in use.
