Event Overview
The Urban Sports Summit Executive Committee will hold the Urban Sports Summit at Escon Field HOKKAIDO for two days on Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th. PIST6 Presents「JAPAN CITY SPORTS EXPO 2024 HOKKAIDO」 will be held.
Over the two days, there will be competitions and shows for a total of eight sports, including the much talked about skateboarding and dance battles. Mountain biking will also feature the All Japan Championships, where the best in Japan will be decided.
Thanks to the generous support of our many sponsors, admission, participation and viewing will all be free of charge so that more people from Hokkaido, from children to adults, can enjoy the event.
On the same day, a food and drink event will be held at Hokkaido Ballpark F Village, making it the perfect event for couples and families with children to enjoy watching, drinking, and eating.
Event Goals
By making this a success, we aim to develop Hokkaido and Kitahiroshima City into a new center of sports and culture.
We are working with the following outlook and vision:
- Revitalization of the local economy
This event will attract many tourists to Hokkaido and stimulate economic activity in local restaurants, accommodations, retail stores, etc. It will also promote the development of a sustainable tourism industry by spreading local specialties and culture.
- Promotion of sports culture
Through a variety of sports such as mountain biking, basketball (3×3), dance battles, and boccia, we aim to convey the appeal of sports to local children and young people and promote their healthy development. This will increase interest and participation in sports, and contribute to the development of a sports culture throughout the region.
- Promoting international exchange
Through interactions with participants and tourists from overseas, we will promote the development of a region with an international perspective. With the aim of hosting international competitions in the future, we will position Kitahiroshima as an international sports hub and increase the global recognition of the region.
- Sustainable events
We aim to create a sustainable future by managing our events in an environmentally friendly manner. We will take measures to reduce our environmental impact, such as promoting recycling and using eco-friendly resources.
- Strengthening the community
We will strengthen cooperation with local residents and businesses to promote the event throughout the community. Through partnerships with local sponsors, we aim to strengthen unity throughout the region and grow together.
- Creating new value
We will provide new value by fusing sports and tourism, and give participants an unforgettable experience. By experiencing the games for themselves, rather than just watching professional players, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the appeal of sports and enjoy them.
