Sony has announced the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro, an upgraded version of the console, set to hit the market in November.
The PS5 Pro boasts enhanced graphics and artificial intelligence (AI) functions, offering a more immersive gaming experience. The digital version will be priced at $699, while a separate peripheral for disk use will be available for $79.99, bringing the combined price to $778.99.
Although detailed specifications are yet to be revealed, the PS5 Pro’s GPU has seen a 60% improvement, calculation processing has increased by 28%, and rendering has been enhanced by 45% compared to its predecessor.
The console features automatic AI-assisted upscaling for 4K, ray tracing, and 60-frame composition, providing a significantly better experience than before. Graphics have also seen significant visual improvements, including dynamic lighting, with support for 8K TVs and 120 frame variable refresh rates.
According to PlayStation Chief Architect Mark Cherney, “It’s the most powerful console we’ve ever built and a worthy addition to the PS5 family.”
The PS5 Pro will be available for pre-order from September 26, although regional restrictions are unknown. A release date and price for Korea have not been set.
