Autumn Sohu Video Broadcaster Conference Warm-Up Event Held

Workers’ Daily-China Workers’ Network reporter Che Hui

Zhang Chaoyang, Sohu founder, chairman, and CEO, successfully swam across the Weihai Bay in a breaststroke, covering a distance of 4.15 kilometers and completing the challenge in 2 hours and 36 minutes.

Zhang Chaoyang emphasized that he chose swimming to promote the 2024 Autumn Sohu Video Broadcaster Conference, hoping to attract more people to experience the fun of video social networking. He also highlighted that struggle is the essence of life, and only by taking action can you live a meaningful life.

At around 8:50 am, Zhang Chaoyang launched the “cross-sea” challenge from Liugong Island, using breaststroke throughout the process. Despite encountering waves and strong ocean currents, he remained orderly and completed the challenge in 2 hours and 36 minutes.

Zhang Chaoyang expressed his sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from having put in the effort to accomplish something. He insisted on running and strengthened his swimming training within a week to restore his muscle memory and strength.

Crossing the bay is more challenging than swimming pools and general outdoor waters. It requires overcoming difficulties such as waves, tides, ocean currents, low water temperature, and long-term immersion in seawater. Zhang Chaoyang highlighted the importance of controlling sneezing, accurately grasping the rhythm of breathing, and spitting out seawater in time.

Zhang Chaoyang values the practicality and functionality of exercise. He believes that running is a basic exercise that requires long-term persistence, while swimming is not only good for the cervical spine but also a survival skill. He recommends that everyone learn to swim and challenge the crossing of Weihai Bay with professional guidance and safety guarantees.

Zhang Chaoyang reiterated that his crossing challenge was a warm-up for the 2024 Autumn Sohu Video Broadcaster Conference. He compared the Broadcaster Conference to an important product launch conference of Sohu and strongly recommended Sohu Video’s “Follow Flow”.
