Apple iPhone 16 Launch: What to Expect

Apple’s press conference is set to kick off at 1am on September 10, Hong Kong time. While not all hardware updates are expected to be announced, several new products are rumored to be launched, including the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch X, AirPods 4, and more.

iPhone 16 Series: Price Increase and Hardware Upgrades

The iPhone 16 series is expected to include four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. With significant hardware upgrades, especially in Apple Intelligence, camera functions, and more, the price of the iPhone 16 series may also increase.

The current prices of the iPhone 15 series are as follows: iPhone 15 ($799), iPhone 15 Plus ($899), iPhone 15 Pro ($999), and iPhone 15 Pro Max ($1,199). The price of the iPhone 16 Pro may rise to $1,099, with a starting capacity increase from 128GB to 256GB.

Apple Watch X: A Special Edition with Refined Design and Health Monitoring Functions

This year marks the tenth year of the Apple Watch, and to celebrate, Apple is expected to launch a special edition of the Apple Watch 10 (or Apple Watch X). This new watch may bring a more refined design, higher-level health monitoring functions, and a new magnetic strap design.

The Apple Watch X may also use micro-LED display technology, making the display brighter and energy-saving. Additionally, health functions have always been the core selling point of Apple Watch, and Apple Watch X is no exception, with expected features such as blood pressure monitoring and sleep breathing monitoring.

AirPods 4: Two Versions with Advanced Features

AirPods 4 are expected to be unveiled at the launch event, with two different versions targeting different price ranges. The new AirPods may introduce more high-end features, such as active noise cancellation (ANC), currently limited to AirPods Pro.

AirPods 4 may also be equipped with built-in speakers, making it easier for users to find lost headphones. The H2 chip, the same as the second-generation AirPods Pro, will improve sound quality, battery life, and Bluetooth connection stability.

AirPods Max 2: USB-C and Improved Noise Reduction

AirPods Max 2 is expected to debut at the launch, with the biggest changes being the switch to USB-C and the addition of more color options. The appearance will not change much, but the noise reduction and adaptive mode functions are expected to be improved, and the sound quality will be enhanced compared to the first generation.

Mac and iPad: Updates Expected Later This Year

Although the focus of this conference is on iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods products, rumors about Mac and iPad updates continue to emerge. Apple plans to launch a new series of Mac products equipped with M4 chips in November this year, including MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini.

The update of iPad mini has also attracted attention, but current news suggests it may be launched at a separate event in October. By then, Apple may release a new M4 Mac series at the same time.

iPhone SE 4: OLED Screen and Full-Screen Design

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be launched in early 2025, introducing OLED screen technology for the first time and marking Apple’s complete elimination of LCD screens. The iPhone SE 4 will adopt a full-screen design, cancel the physical Home button, and introduce the Face ID function, making it closer to high-end iPhone models in terms of performance and design.
