Get Ready to Celebrate: Free Access to LCSD Facilities on 10.1 and a Chance to Win Big in the National Day Lottery

Free Use of Recreational ⁣Facilities on October 1 to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

To celebrate ⁣the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic⁤ of China, citizens will⁣ be able to use ⁤a‍ number of ‌fee-based recreational facilities of the Department of Leisure and Cultural Services free of charge on October‍ 1.

Starting this⁢ Saturday (September 14), members of the public can submit lottery applications ⁤for free ​use of ⁢the relevant facilities. Free use of facilities sections ⁢on ‍October​ 1st⁤ will‍ be⁤ allocated by‌ lottery via⁤ the “SmartPLAY Leisure Pass”.

Members of the public‌ will ​be able to access the‌ system from this Saturday to next Friday to apply for the lottery. Each application can ⁢include 3 lottery options. The⁤ results‍ of the computer lottery allocation will be announced on the 23rd of this month.

The SmartPLAY system will notify users ⁤of winning segments. Winners will not ‍need⁤ to confirm. If‌ segments remain, ​users who have not been allocated⁤ or ‍have not claimed free‍ segments will be able to book via the⁣ SmartPLAY system on a first-come, first-served basis.

Regardless‍ of whether it is by lottery or first-come, first-served ⁤booking, each​ person can ⁢only ‌get one free ‌session of leisure facilities on that day. ​The recreational facilities of the Department of ‌Leisure and ‍Cultural ⁣Services are open to the public free‍ of charge on that day.

Recreational Facilities Available for Free Use on ⁤October 1

  • Indoor recreational facilities: ‍badminton court, tennis court, basketball⁤ court, netball court, ⁣volleyball court,‌ squash court, table ​tennis table, ⁢pool ⁤table, snooker table, climbing wall*, bowling green,⁤ golf facilities, fitness room*, activity room and dance studio;

  • Outdoor recreational facilities: tennis courts,⁢ bowling greens, baseball fields, climbing walls*, archery ranges* and golf facilities (excluding camping facilities, sports fields, artificial turf pitches and natural grass ⁢pitches);

  • Public swimming pools (excluding ​Wan Chai Pool, which is for‌ group training only; closed swimming pools for annual maintenance: Hong Kong​ East Pool, ​Ho Man Tin Pool, Tsing⁢ Yi Southwest Pool, Tung Cheong Street Pool and Ping Shan Tin Shui Wai Pool; and due ​to reconstruction work Kowloon ​Tsai Pool is temporarily closed).

  • Water Sports Centre Boats* (Chong Hing Water Sports Centre recreational canoes, jet skis,‍ sampans and colourful boats are free ‍for campers only.)

If ⁤the renter fails to pick up the venue within⁣ the first 10 minutes of the‌ scheduled‍ session, the‌ venue will be available ⁣for use‌ by others on a first-come, first-served​ basis, but only for​ the same purpose as the original‌ renter. If the⁤ original⁣ renter arrives later, the user must return the venue immediately.
