Get Ready to Elevate Your Viewing Experience: tvOS 18 Now Available

Starting today, tvOS 18 is bringing intelligent features like InSight, which shows you the actors, characters, and music from live-action movies and shows on Apple TV+ as you watch them. Dialogue highlighting gets even smarter in tvOS 18, using machine learning and computational audio to make speech clearer. Subtitles now automatically appear when you need them most — whether after you mute content, skip forward in the middle of a story, or if the language of a show or movie is different from the language set on your device. tvOS 18 also introduces sleek new screensavers for Apple TV 4K, like Portrait.

This update brings visitor access to the Home app with iOS 18, giving you an easy way to grant visitors control over your door locks, garage door, security system, and more, and to grant access to your home on an individual or hourly basis using your smart lock. You’ll also be able to see visitor activity history in the Home app. In addition, the Home app is partnering with major utilities, starting with Pacific Gas & Electric Company in California, to give you easy access to your home’s energy usage, so you can understand how it’s being used and make smarter decisions about how you use it.

• Spatial audio is also being added to AirPlay for an immersive experience when streaming audio from compatible third-party audio devices to iPhone and iPad.

• Starting later this year, tvOS 18 will also add support for watching movies and series on a projector. Supports 21:9 screen ratioand Snoopy, among other new screen protectors.
