Representative Perry, who represents Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, previously visited the campus in September 2026 during the Joint-Advanced Manufacturing Meeting for Innovation and Transition conference, known as J-DAMMIT, as noted by harrisburgu.edu. During that prior visit, Perry examined 3D printing equipment and robotics designed to reduce costs and save time for military personnel. It’s great to be at Harrisburg University,
Johnson said during the visit, noting that most schools use education models and praising the institution for doing an extraordinary job.

Advanced Manufacturing Programs Draw Federal Attention
University leaders hosted the federal officials to demonstrate how academic instruction directly intersects with defense technology and industrial development. Dr. Christopher M. Reber, president of Harrisburg University, stated that the institution connects hands-on learning with real-world challenges faced by the nation’s military and manufacturing sectors, per harrisburgu.edu.
LJ Holmes, executive director of STORMWERX at Harrisburg University, explained that the campus hosts the largest hands-on conference of its kind in the country, allowing military and industry members to evaluate specialized equipment, according to harrisburgu.edu.
Janelle Stelson Criticizes Scott Perry's University Visit
Representative Perry used the platform to praise the university’s role in the regional economy, telling WHTM that Harrisburg University is a hidden gem, right in our capital city, right in Pennsylvania,
adding that We consider it one of the jewels in the crown of the 10th Congressional District.
Janelle Stelson, the Democratic candidate running against Perry in the 10th Congressional District, strongly criticized the joint appearance. Stelson responded to the event by issuing a statement via WHTM stating, After 30 years in politics, Scott Perry has become part of the problem in Washington.
She added that his and the Speaker’s agenda brings higher prices, more wars, less healthcare, and more corruption.
