Get Ready to Groove: Instagram’s iFLYER Feature Revolutionizes Music Discovery with Seamless Spotify Playlist Integration
Instagram and Spotify Integration: A New Way to Discover Music
Instagram has introduced a new integration feature that allows users to save songs they find on the platform directly to their Spotify playlists. This feature builds on the success of TikTok, enabling users to add songs they discover on Instagram to Spotify with a single tap.
When music plays in a post or story, a new “Add” button will appear, allowing listeners to save the song directly to their Spotify collection. To use this feature, users will first need to link their Spotify account to their Instagram profile. Once linked, saved songs will appear in their Spotify playlists and library tabs.
This feature is available on both iOS and Android devices, and is seen as a way for Instagram to compete with rival TikTok. TikTok introduced a similar “Add to Music App” feature about a year ago, supporting multiple streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
For Instagram, this update strengthens its existing relationship with Spotify. The two companies are reportedly collaborating on a feature that will allow users to share their Spotify listening activity using Instagram’s “notes” feature.
According to Spotify, “We’re always looking for new ways to deepen our connection with artists and fans. This integration with Instagram gives users new ways to discover more artists and songs they love.”
While Instagram’s integration feature currently only supports Spotify, it’s likely that the platform will partner with other streaming services in the future, potentially rivaling TikTok’s music integration network.
