Title: Third Grader’s Dependency Raises Concerns Over Autonomy, According to Experts

by Yuri Lim, correspondent for My Daily

On the Channel A program ‘My Little Baby These Days of Parenting’, which aired on the afternoon of the 27th, an eye-opening portrayal of a third-grade elementary school child’s lack of independence left viewers concerned. Geumjjook, a nine-year-old boy, exhibited behavior akin to that of a three-year-old, reinforcing the need for further examination.

During the episode, Geumjjook woke up and made his way to the living room where his mother was resting after tending to him. He curiously exclaimed, “dirt,” catching his mother’s attention. Puzzled by his unusual behavior, his mother questioned why he didn’t simply go to the bathroom when she instructed him to do so earlier.

Moments later, Geumjjook called out to his mother from the bathroom, indicating he had finished using the toilet. In response, his mother advised him to wipe himself and roll up the toilet paper. However, when Geumjjook struggled with cleaning himself, his mother stepped in to assist.

Dr. Oh Eun-young, an expert on the show, expressed astonishment at the situation, questioning the necessity for confidence when cleaning one’s own stool. Dr. Oh further explained that children are typically potty trained between 15 to 24 months of age, emphasizing that Geumjjook, at nine years old, falls significantly outside the expected timeframe.

Based on observations, Dr. Oh suggested the possibility of an underlying issue with Geumjjook’s autonomy, indicating that certain aspects of his development seem to lag behind those of a typical three-year-old. This raises concerns about his overall level of independence.

Geumjjook’s situation serves as a reminder for parents and educators to closely monitor and address any potential delays in a child’s development. By identifying and providing the necessary support, we can ensure that children like Geumjjook are able to flourish and reach their full potential.

[마이데일리 = 임유리 기자] Geumjjoo, a third grader, showed that he was unable to clean his bowels on his own.

In the Channel A general programming program ‘My Little Baby These Days of Parenting’, which was broadcast on the afternoon of the 27th, a third year elementary school child was depicted who cannot live without his mother’s permission.

On this day, Geumjjook came out of his sleep into the living room and said “dirt” to his mother, who was resting after finishing childcare.

To this, the mother said, “Huh? When I said, “Go to the bathroom,” Geumjyo went to the bathroom. It was confusing to see Geumjjoek go out of his way to ask his mother’s permission.

After a while, Geumjjook started calling his mother from the bathroom. When the mother asked, “Why?”, Geum replied, “I’m done.” Then my mother said, “Wipe it dry. “Roll up the toilet paper,” he said.

However, when the gold tooth didn’t move, Mum said, “Can’t you clean it? “Aren’t you confident?” he did the cleaning for me in the end.

Dr. Oh Eun-young from the studio was amazed by this, saying, “Why do you have to be confident to clean your stool?”

Dr said. Oh, “This child has not reached potty training age. It is normally due to be started and completed within 15 to 24 months. “But he’s 9 years old,” she pointed out.

Dr. continued. he has a very difficult time doing things on his own. Some things seem to remain at the 3-year-old level. “I think there is a problem with autonomy,” he said.
