Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions announced that Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will launch for the PlayStation 5 on October 1, bringing a new narrative expansion, a roguelike combat survival mode, and a series of quality-of-life updates to the open-world franchise, according to an official PlayStation Blog announcement published on August 12, 2026.

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Release Details and Pricing

The Complete Edition arrives exactly one year after the original title debuted on the PlayStation 5, coinciding with the studio’s milestone anniversary for the franchise. According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, the bundle will be priced at $69.99 USD and includes the award-winning base game alongside Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the four-player online cooperative experience that features multiple gameplay modes culminating in a Raid.

Players who already own the base game can acquire the new content through the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99 USD, which adds the expansion and survival mode. Sucker Punch Productions confirmed that purchasers of the upgrade will immediately unlock the Digital Deluxe Edition content and the Charm of Hokkyokusei upon pre-order. Furthermore, anyone who pre-orders either the full Complete Edition or the upgrade tier by September 30 will receive an early unlock on October 1 for the Sakai Armor, providing Atsu with a cosmetic throwback to Jin’s family armor from Ghost of Tsushima.

Echoes of Sekigahara Narrative Expansion and Setting

The core narrative addition in the bundle is titled Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara. According to Sucker Punch Productions, the story splits between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland, introducing a figure from her past named Nagato who travels to Ezo.

In the contemporary timeline, players explore an unseen valley previously inhabited by The Snake and his loyal follower faction, the Vipers. Flashback sequences detail Atsu’s experiences during the Battle of Sekigahara, highlighting a pivotal chapter in her life prior to her homecoming quest for vengeance. The expansion adds new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dye options to the game.

Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted Combat Survival Mode

Alongside the story expansion, Sucker Punch Productions introduced Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, a single-player roguelike combat survival mode. According to the studio, players accept bounties to initiate new runs, defeating enemies to earn perks and unlock additional playable characters.

The survival mode features distinct character combat styles. Atsu utilizes the dual katana, Oyuki wields the kusarigama, and Nagato employs a yari spear. Sucker Punch noted that players who purchase the Complete Edition or the upgrade can immediately access the main game and Legends modes, while the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and Most Wanted mode will be deployed via a patch on October 1.
