Glen Powell Lookalike Contest in Austin: Fans Gather for a Fun Celebration

Hundreds of people gathered at Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas, for a lookalike contest inspired by Glen Powell, the star of Top Gun: Maverick. Contestants included people imitating Powell’s roles in films and the mascot of Torchy’s Tacos, along with a dog resembling his pet, Brisket. Powell’s family members helped choose the winner.

Although Powell could not attend due to filming in England, he joined the event via FaceTime. He joked about the contest and promised the winner a special prize: a cameo role for their family member in his next movie.

The video clip showed Powell discussing the event, humorously commenting on the need for participants to be shirtless and teasingly suggesting a heist. He stated that the contest winner would gain a cash-value prize of a cameo alongside a cowboy hat and free Torchy’s queso for a year.

Max Braunstein won the contest, with prizes including the cameo and additional rewards. This event followed a similar lookalike competition for Timothée Chalamet in New York City, which sparked interest in lookalike contests across various cities worldwide.
