National Security Office Director Shin Won-sik Announces National Cyber Security Basic Plan
National Security Office Director Shin Won-sik met with French President Emmanuel Beaune, who is visiting South Korea, on the 3rd to discuss key issues and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Director Shin and President Beaune exchanged assessments on the issue of cooperation between Russia and France. They agreed that South Korea and France should work together with their allies to address this issue.
Director Shin emphasized the potential for cooperation between Korea and France on issues in the Indo-Pacific region. He expressed his expectation that specific cooperation plans will be derived through future consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
President Beaune responded that he looks forward to active cooperation with Korea, an ally and a visionary of open cooperation on issues in the Indo-Pacific region.
The two sides agreed to expand multi-layered cooperation in a wide range of areas, including trade, investment, and climate change. This decision is based on discussions between the two leaders at the Korea-France summit last year.
Notably, both sides recognized that Korea and France, as advanced technology powerhouses, have great potential for cooperation in future strategic industries. They agreed to discuss specific plans for future cooperation in these areas.
