Global Unity in Action: President Ndayishimiye Welcomes 10-Nation Delegation in Support of Burundi’s Youth Movement
Burundi: A Country on the Path to Development and Stability
On the occasion of the 8th edition of Imbonerakure Day, delegations from various countries joined the young Imbonerakure of the ruling party CNDD FDD to celebrate this special day.
A Country with a Rich History and Potential
Burundi, also known as the “Land of a thousand and one hills” and the ”Heart of Africa”, is a country with a rich history and potential for development. The country does not receive any water courses from the outside but rather waters and feeds different countries and continents through the water courses of the Congo Basin and the Nile rivers.
From Colonization to Reconstruction and Economic Recovery
Burundi’s history is marked by colonization and post-colonial conflicts that have plunged the country into a catastrophic situation. However, with the coming into power of the CNDD-FDD in 2005, the country experienced significant reconstruction and economic recovery, giving Burundian citizens hope for a better and secure tomorrow.
The Role of Youth in Burundi’s Development
Burundian youth represent more than 60% of the total population and are a dynamic category of the population on which the hope of the country’s development is based. The government has established a program for economic empowerment and employment creation for young people, including a youth bank and another for women, to provide easy access to credit and finance their projects.
Stability and Vision for the Future
The current stability in the country has encouraged Burundians to plan and define a vision for the future, with the goal of becoming an emerging country by 2040 and a developed country by 2060. The government is committed to supervising and guiding the population to achieve this vision.
A Bright Future for Burundi
The hope for a better Burundi tomorrow is evident, and the government is determined to work towards achieving this vision. The country is resilient, financing its budget at 100%, and has made significant progress in reducing unemployment among young people.
The President of Burundi wishes a good stay to the various delegations that came to join the Imbonerakure youth of the CNDD FDD and invites them to visit the interior of the country to see the progress made.
