Google is rolling out voice input for its AI Mode search, offering a streamlined way to conduct queries. The update, which includes a new speech-to-text indicator, is available on both Android and iPhone devices.
The microphone icon now appears next to the submit button in the main input screen, joining the gallery and Google Lens options. tapping the microphone activates an arc-shaped speech-to-text indicator that uses AI Mode colors while transcribing the user’s speech in real-time.

This new animation replaces the rectangular version previously available on the AI Mode homepage. Google plans to use this same animation for the immersive conversation experience at Search Live.
The updated voice input for AI Mode is rolling out via a server-side update on android devices with version 16.20+ of the Google app. It is already available on iPhones.
