Google Pixel 10a: Release Date, Specs & Price Revealed

by Lisa Park - Tech Editor

After weeks of rumors and leaks, Google has officially offered a first look at its upcoming budget-friendly smartphone, the Pixel 10a. The device was previewed in a short teaser video released on YouTube today, . Google also confirmed that the Pixel 10a will be available for pre-order starting – a full month earlier than the launch of the previous generation.

Google Releases Teaser and Reveals Launch Date

Google published a 16-second video on YouTube to build anticipation for the Pixel 10a. The phone is showcased in the advertisement in a blue color, similar to that offered with last year’s Pixel 9a.

In terms of design, the Pixel 10a appears to maintain a similar aesthetic to its predecessor. Google has retained the general lines and simple form factor. The phone lacks a prominent camera bump, giving it a sleek and balanced appearance, and likely meaning it won’t wobble when placed on a flat surface like a desk.

The video also confirmed the official launch date, with the Google Pixel 10a becoming available for pre-order beginning . This represents an earlier timeframe than usual, as Google launched the Pixel 9a in March of the previous year.

Google is also inviting interested customers to sign up for email alerts to receive an “exclusive offer” for early Pixel 10a purchasers.

Pixel 10a: What We Know About Specifications So Far

While Google has not yet revealed the full technical details of the phone, recent leaks have painted a fairly clear picture of the expected specifications.

According to leaker Evan Blass, the Pixel 10a is expected to be available in four colors: Obsidian (black), Lavender, Berry, and Fog. Berry is a new addition to the series, and leaks suggest it may have a reddish tint.

Regarding hardware, leaks indicate the phone will utilize the same Tensor G4 processor found in the Pixel 9a, while the higher-end Pixel 10 phones will run on the newer Tensor G5 processor. It’s also expected to feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, alongside a 5100 mAh battery with 23W charging support.

Expected Price of the Google Pixel 10a

Expectations suggest the Pixel 10a won’t represent a significant leap forward from the previous generation, but rather incremental improvements in performance and overall experience. This approach may help Google maintain the price point, especially given rising costs of memory components globally. As such, Google is likely to maintain the same price as the Pixel 9a, which launched at $499.

The Pixel 10a is positioned as a more affordable alternative to Google’s flagship Pixel 10, which starts at $899. The “a” series has historically been released in the spring or summer, but this launch marks an earlier debut for Google’s lower-cost Pixel line, potentially arriving just ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series.

Google released the Pixel 9a in April 2025, and it is currently available for $399, offering a more budget-conscious option for consumers. The Pixel 9a was praised for delivering “flagship-level performance” and excellent picture-taking capabilities despite its lesser specifications.
