Google Pixel 8 Pro Camera Faces Issues with Noise and Slow Speed, Cnet Reports

Google’s Pixel 8 Pro Smartphone Camera Facing Multiple Issues, Reports CNET

By Jinyoung Hwang

In a recent report, CNET from the United States highlighted several concerns with the camera of Google’s Pixel 8 Pro smartphone. The device appears to encounter problems when capturing scenes with high contrast between bright and dark areas, resulting in the emergence of unnatural noise patterns and speckles in shadowed regions.

Furthermore, CNET noted that the phone’s capability to capture texture details is significantly hindered in low-light environments, often resulting in the erasure of these details. It has been observed that shooting in night vision mode or low resolution mode can slightly improve the results.

The report also raised reservations about the camera speed on the Pixel 8 Pro. When selecting the full high-resolution option for raw shooting, the device exhibits slower performance compared to the 12-megapixel alternative. Interestingly, the iPhone 14 Pro, equipped with a 48-megapixel camera, surpasses the Pixel 8 Pro in speed when capturing photos in Raw mode.

Notably, in some instances, the Pixel 8 Pro set at maximum resolution experiences significant slowdowns when capturing data-intensive night vision photos. To indicate the need for stability, a ‘Don’t move’ message is displayed on the smartphone’s screen.

As the criticisms mount, Google will likely face pressure to address these camera issues promptly, ensuring a more satisfactory experience for users.
