Green Beret Engineers set up a tree to celebrate Tet in Africa

The image of a tree built with recycled materials has brought encouragement to Vietnamese green beret soldiers who are on duty away from the Fatherland during the Lunar New Year.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese Engineer Team in Abyei (Africa) erected a tree about 18m high at the barracks and welcomed international friends to celebrate.

The trunk of the tree is made from two well-dried water pipes, decorated with eye-catching colors and LED lights. On top of the tree, there is a 2m high five-pointed star decorated with the Vietnamese flag and the United Nations flag. At night, LED lights make the tree and the Vietnamese Fatherland flag stand out.
