“His innovative policies and innovative methods have contributed significantly to environmental conservation, the adoption of renewable energy and sustainable urban development. The positive impact of his work is evident and an inspiration around the world,” the letter highlights.

This recognition was also announced by the Secretary of the Economy, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, who drew attention to the fact that the award corresponds to the steps implemented by Sheinbaum as Head of Government of Mexico City.
“They have decided to give him this very high recognition for his initiatives from Mexico City, precisely in terms of sustainability, renewable energy, actions to mitigate climate change, urban innovation, many initiatives he took,” he said in video release on their social networks.
The former chancellor also pointed out that the Nobel Nobel Sustainability Trust is a foundation created by the Nobel family, heir to the scientist and creator of the prestigious Nobel Prize, in order to support and recognize the great contributions in sustainability to the world.

Sheinbaum Pardo was invited to the award ceremony, which will take place on November 20 and 21 at the University of Berkeley, in the state of California, in the United States.
The President of Mexico, said Michael Nobel, will be decorated for the following reasons:
– Innovative urban policies for promoting it to reduce carbon emissions by expanding public transport, creating green spaces and promoting more sustainable urban mobility.
– Resilience initiatives By recognizing the vulnerability of urban areas to climate change, he has led efforts to strengthen sustainable infrastructure and disaster preparedness.
