The team announced the move Wednesday, also revealing the signing of veteran left-hander Wade Miley to bolster their starting rotation. Right-hander Rhett Lowder was moved to the 60-day IL in a corresponding transaction.

Miley, 38, returns to Cincinnati after opting out of his Minor league contract Sunday. He will receive a prorated $2.5 million salary, with the potential for $1.5 million in performance bonuses as part of his one-year agreement. He previously pitched for the Reds in 2020 and 2021, and he made four starts at Triple-A Louisville this year, recording a 5.93 ERA.
