On October 9, the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China convened a meeting to report that Zhang Shuofu is undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation, gdjct.gd.gov.cn reported.
Provincial Committee Vows Support for Investigation
Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Attendees unanimously stated their firm support for the decisions made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the anti-corruption agencies, according to the official report.
The meeting emphasized that the investigation into Zhang Shuofu fully demonstrates the unwavering determination of the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, to advance full and strict governance over the Party. Officials at the meeting noted that the probe sends a clear signal that the high-pressure stance against corruption will remain steadfast, ensuring that every corrupt element is investigated and punished without exception.
Guangdong Officials Urged to Strengthen Political Discipline
During the session, the Provincial Committee called on Party organizations and cadres at all levels across Guangdong to study Xi Jinping’s thought on Party building. The meeting stressed the need to purify ideology, organizations, and队伍 while maintaining a clean political ecosystem.
Participants emphasized that the Party's political construction must come first to help members strengthen their political judgment, thinking, and execution.
