Acapulco Judge Gunned Down Outside Courthouse
Acapulco, Guerrero – Tragedy struck the judicial system in Acapulco as retired Judge Edmundo román Pinzón was fatally shot outside the Caleta courthouse on Tuesday.
Román, a former president of the Guerrero State Superior Court of Justice (TSJ), was leaving the courthouse in the Las Playas neighborhood when he was attacked.
The Guerrero State attorney General’s Office (FGE) has launched an investigation into the homicide. Investigators are gathering evidence, interviewing potential witnesses, and reviewing security footage from the area in hopes of identifying the perpetrators.
Forensic specialists from the FGE were also deployed too the scene to collect evidence.
román served as president of the TSJ from May 2006, during the governorship of Zeferino Torreblanca Galindo.
