In the hot job season, a large number of young people are about to face an important identity change in their lives. When six young people from Shushan University received a job offer from the Jin Group, the largest consortium in M City, upon graduation, what kind of surprises and challenges will they face when they leave the campus and enter the workplace, and what kind of career life will they write?

As the soft music sounded, the trainees divided into different groups began to study the script and experience the workplace life of their respective characters. The script is designed with five plot lines and five supporting courses, which respectively focus on professional mentality, thinking, literacy, behavior and self-management. During the event, the training instructor transformed into the script host (DM) and the characters in the script (NPC), and conducted teaching and tool exercises while the plot was unfolding. Driven by the plot, the participants not only learned practical workplace knowledge and skills, but also gained a profound experience and sublimation in emotions, as if they had experienced a real workplace competition.

“The character I play in the script is called Meng Yuan, a big brother role, and someone I want to be in the future.” Student Li Fen told reporters that after getting the script, she tried her best to think about problems from Meng Yuan’s perspective, answer the teacher’s questions, and lead the team members to strive for more gold coin rewards and obtain the qualification for successful competition.

The reporter learned that Li Fen has many years of experience working in basic positions and recently wants to change jobs, aiming for a middle management position. “The game is very interesting. We try to use models to analyze the characters and determine what decisions he and other competitors will make, and how I can do my best. It’s very brain-burning!” Li Fen said with emotion that by participating in the game, she has become more competitive in future job hunting and career advancement.

“With the post-00s entering the workplace and the post-90s moving into management positions, these contemporary young people who grew up with the Internet have higher demands for career guidance. With the help of the more popular game method of ‘script killing’, they can play different lives by reading scripts, which allows them to have a strong sense of participation. This can effectively solve the pain point of difficulty in concentrating in traditional training.” Training instructor Bi Haibin told reporters that the “script killing + training” format became popular in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta at the beginning of last year, with very good results and response. It began to be promoted in Hainan in the second half of last year, and its team has successively conducted more than 50 related experiences.

Bi Haibin introduced that one of the major features of the “Career Life” script that the students participated in that day was the use of the SWOT tool to identify their own strengths and weaknesses. “In the game, participants only need to analyze the role they play, without self-analysis, so that they will let down their guard and be more involved when they enter the game. After the game, the participants have mastered the relevant knowledge points and can analyze themselves at the appropriate time and place. They can also apply the methods they have learned to their colleagues and friends around them, which will reduce communication costs in the future and provide better guidance for work.”

If we want to become the talent that employers need, as graduates we must quickly make role transitions to adjust to the workplace environment. At the same time, we must have the ability to withstand pressure and a positive attitude to achieve the common development of individuals and teams.” Chen, a student from Hainan Normal University, was deeply moved after listening to the lecture.
